Our first date (although we wouldn't have called it at that point in time, being 'just friends' and all) was spent eating a meal together at a restaurant down the street from our Bible College. A nice walk together and a typically-wonderful conversation. Right from the beginning Craig worked his way into my heart through our talks. I'd never met a guy I could talk with like him. Hours on end. It's still that way.
Back to the restaurant. It was a bit of a dump, truth-be-told. The name on the front was Peking Bowl. I can't remember what I ate, but I do remember that blue-eyed man sitting across the table from me. Thump. Thump.
As far as I can remember, there was only one other customer in the restuarant with us, a grungy looking man who'd had faaaaarr too much to drink. Half-way through our meal, he staggered over to our table and said through slurred speech:
"You 2 are the best looking couple here. Seriously. You look so good." Now what does one say to that? :-)
And then he went on with the clincher: "When you get married, I wanna come to the wedding OK? You invite me to the wedding."
I think we told him we would. Can't remember.
I didn't have his address when we were mailing out wedding invites 2 2 1/2 years later, but almost wish I did. What he saw through alcohol-blurred vision that September day, was something that God saw and planned long before. A wedding, a marriage, a family of seven...

I'm Contagious
There doesn't seem to be anyone in this home that is as contagious as me. Not in sickness, but in attitude. The old saying :" When Mamma ain't happy, nobody's happy" surprisingly rings true.
I've discovered that while we all go through grumpy times, mine spread more than Craig's or the kids. When I'm 'off', the tone of our home is 'off'.
The heart of our home is greatly affected by the state of mine.

Attitudes
I realized today that it seems to be easier to deal with attitude from a 3-yr-old than it is when it comes from an 11-yr-old. When the child is older, the attititude seems personal. I guess because there's an 'established' relationship there. My challenge is that I don't discipline it from a 'personal' vantage point.
Oh that I have a Heavenly Father leading my way! Thanks be to Him! He is Parenting at its best.
Trivial stuff: Jeff fell today at school and cut open his chin. Seven stitches on a seven-yr-old. Love that boy.

Right Now
Presently there are 2 playing Lego, 3 having a tea party and 1 machine cleaning clothes. Hubby is at work, coming home soon.
I still have all my flock under 1 roof. And we're together a lot.
These are such sweet, sweet days.
My greatest desire is that God would give me eyes to see and ears to hear His presence.
And that it would all bring glory to Him.
